A walk in the park.

I have really liked our neighborhood until recently. Chris and I loaded the baby in the stroller and leashed the dogs. Baby was crying all the way to the park. Chris let the dogs off their leashes and tried to help me calm the baby. Suddenly we heard snarling dogs. We both looked up and saw Hodge quareling with a large black poodle. (Hodge has always had a distaste for poodles for some reason) Chris took off running to take care of the situation when the owner of the poodle took off after Hodge kicking him while his dog trots off in the other direction. Chris yells at this guy telling him not to kick Hodge and the guy yells back to put our dog on a leash. Mind you this guy's dog was off leash as well. Really!?

The guy and his dog leave and I catch up to the scene just as Chris pushes Hodge to the ground telling him to stay. Hodge has always know that when he is reprimanded he is not to move. As I call our other dog Rocko back Hodge starts to move and Chris puts his foot on him telling him to stay. I told Chris to put them both back on their leashes and just go. I told him that they are not going to get a run in if they act like this. Meanwhile baby is still freaking out so I turn the stroller around and head home.

When Chris walks in he tells me that some lady pulled up to him and told him "if she see him throw his dog to the ground like that again she's calling the cops".

Since when is it a crime to reprimand your own dog? Just to be clear Chris has never "thrown his dog to the ground". Hodge weighs well over 100 pounds. And when is it okay to kick another mans dog? You can break up a dog squabble without getting physically involved. I don't think I would kick a dog I didn't know for fear that the dog would come after me, especially a bigger dog.

So this all makes me think...........

What happened to friendliness, manners, decency, privacy, minding our own business & not jumping to conclusions?
